Perth Zoo activity

Come and visit one of Perth’s most popular tourist attractions and learn about this Volunteer program. Members of the Perth Zoo Docent Association will provide insight on how they recruit and retain more than 300 Docents and will take you on a tour of the Zoo so you can understand their role and see them in action.

The Perth Zoo Docent Association Inc. (PZDA) has more than 300 ‘Docents’ who volunteer their time and knowledge to help create a more interesting and worthwhile experience for visitors, as well as helping promote and support Perth Zoo’s efforts in conservation. Each trainee undergoes a 10 week training course, on each Saturday, as well as another four days of probation with a Docent ‘buddy’ before they commence in the role. Come and visit one of Perth’s most popular tourist attractions and learn about this Volunteer program. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Find out all about the in-depth volunteer recruitment and continuous training process as well as ways they retain volunteers. In addition you'll hear about the large number of teams that are involved in running the Association, supporting Docents and teams that provide direct support to some activities in the Zoo.

Delegates have the option to stay at Perth Zoo till closure at 17:00 and make their own way to you their Hotel. Transport ticket is valid for 24 hours.
Inclusions: Includes morning tea and lunch and ferry transport
Notes:  All guests will need to wear comfortable clothing, enclosed footwear, hat and sunscreen as walking is involved.
